Players of the surprisingly-robust multiplayer in The Last of Us have been waiting patiently for any word on when Naughty Dog will be delivering its first pieces of DLC for its critically-acclaimed title, but now it looks like the new DLC content for the game is just right around the corner.

The first piece of content for The Last of Us (and the first in the game's Season Pass) will be the Abandoned Territories Map Pack, a collection of four new multiplayer maps drawn from various points in the game's single-player campaign: Suburbs, Bus Depot, Hometown, and Bookstore. With many variations in how the maps are designed, such as the more vertically-inclined "Bookstore" or even the wandering giraffes in the background of "Bus Depot", the maps in Abandoned Territories take their inspiration from many of the iconic scenes of the campaign, but designed with some new ideas in mind for multiplayer strategy and tactics.

Naughty Dog confirmed that the new map will be making its way to The Last of Us players on October 15th, and will retail for $9.99 on PSN for those that want to purchase it individually, or free to Season Pass holders of The Last of Us.
