The Last of Us Delayed Six Weeks

One of this year’s hotly-anticipated games, The Last of Us has been delayed six weeks and will be released worldwide on June 14th, 2013 rather than in May. What makes this change in the release date so peculiar is the fact that the game will be releasing on not just any Friday (games normally release on Tuesday), but it is the Friday right after E3.

What does this mean? It could mean that Sony is either trying to divert attention from the game, or the more likely (and favorable) possibility, Sony will be dropping some sort of announcement regarding the game that will take all of us by surprise. Only time will tell.  “Instead of cutting corners or compromising our vision, we came to the tough decision that the game deserved a few extra weeks to ensure every detail of The Last of Us was up to Naughty Dog’s internal high standards,” Naughty Dog wrote on the PlayStation Blog.

The Last of Us is being developed by Naughty Dog and will be published by Sony exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
