The Last of Us Finds New “Interrogation” Multiplayer Mode in Upcoming Patch 1.03

While the main single-player campaign of The Last of Us has been unanimously-acclaimed and praised earlier this year, the multiplayer portion of the game has turned out to be quite the underrated gem, but still developing a strong community around the game’s unique multiplayer offerings.

Naughty Dog has luckily released some new details about its latest update for the game, Patch 1.03, that will address many bugs and gameplay tweaks in the current online offerings (including item spawns and matchmaking adjustments), along with a brand new multiplayer mode to go along with the patch. The new multiplayer mode that has been announced is called “Interrogation,” and will be added for free alongside the patch.

In a nutshell, Interrogation is an objective-based mode where players must find and steal from an opponent’s safe (stashed with supplies for your clan) after “interrogating” a downed player (and performing a special execution). Each team must “interrogate” five opponents from the enemy team to find their safe’s location and win the match – however, the crux of Interrogation is that the titular interrogations do take much longer to execute than regular …well… executions, so players will have to coordinate and defend players performing an interrogation to prevent them from being attacked.

Patch 1.03 (with Interrogation Mode) for The Last of Us does not currently have a release date set, but hopefully more information should be on its way…unless we have to interrogate for it.
