Metal Gear Solid crosses paths with Naughty Dog's The Last of Us in this brilliant PS1 fan-made demake.

Many count the PlayStation 1 as one of the best consoles to ever grace us with its presence. With classic titles that include The Legend of Dragoon, Tomb Raider and Silent Hill, the PS1 offered gamers hours of endless entertainment.

Although if Konami's 1998 top-down title Metal Gear Solid is more your thing, this The Last of Us PS1 demake is probably right down your street.

Youtuber and creator Rustic Games BR loves nothing more than taking popular games like God of War and Resident Evil 4 and turning them into PS1 classics. This time, The Last of Us gets the retro treatment with a touch of Metal Gear Solid's flare.

Adapted from The Last of Us' Museum area where Joel, Ellie and Tess have escaped and are on the run, Rustic Games turns the scene into something you're more likely to find in Metal Gear Solid especially as they have included the vision-based minimap in the corner of the screen.

Hiding behind different objects, you can see a top-down display of Joel sneaking around the guards and then using the good old choke method to eliminate them. It's only when he finds a rifle from a downed NPC that you get a first-person view of the game with a cheeky little headshot from Ellie in the rifle's sights.

It's a brilliant demake of one of this generations best titles and I especially love how the creator has implemented a life bar on the top left corner to really hit home that retro feel. All we need now is a cardboard box for Joel to jump into.

HBO's The Last of Us is in full swing of production that will hopefully see the light of day when it airs at some stage next year.
