Hello! If you are on the internet today and are a consumer of video game media, you may have realized that reviews for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II are now starting to appear in certain locations. However, one such location you will not find a review of this fine video game is here at DualShockers.

If you're a longtime reader of our website, then you probably expected as much. We've openly talked about this a bit in the past, but for any of you newbies that may be checking out DualShockers, as things currently stand, we normally don't get pre-release access to PlayStation first-party titles. This remains true here in 2020 with The Last of Us Part II, as well. It's worth noting, however, that this has never impeded our coverage when it comes to PlayStation titles of this kind whatsoever. Looking back to 2019 alone, we still released reviews for games like Days Gone and Death Stranding, each of which just happened to come about not too long after the launch of either title.

So what are our plans for coverage here with The Last of Us Part II, you might ask? Well, I'm glad you brought that up! We'll be gaining access to The Last of Us Part II next week alongside all of you when the game finally releases around the world on Friday, June 19. At this time, our planned reviewer, that of our wonderful Features Editor, Ryan Meitzler, will begin playing through the game to completion and will then end up writing up his thoughts on the game to share with all of you.

To give you a peek behind the curtain, tentatively, our objective is to have a review for The Last of Us Part II out less than a week after the game releases. We're also expecting to have an accomodating video review posted to our YouTube channel, in addition to an extensive edition of our "DualShockers Discussions" video series where members of our staff will break down in greater detail all aspects of the game.

As we've said before, reviews are a major component of our site here at DualShockers and even though we sometimes can't deliver coverage to you in line with other outlets around the net, we still know that game criticism is something that many of you you look forward to from us on a routine basis. We continue to appreciate your interest, patience, and eagerness for this content more than anything else.

Per usual, thanks a ton for continuing to be the best gaming website community around. We look forward to giving you our thoughts on The Last of Us Part II in the not-too-distant future.
