The Last of Us Part 3 Has Been Drafted and hopes to “One Day See the Light of Day.”
If you were hoping for a sequel to Part 2, Neil Druckmann gives fans some faith.
There’s no doubt about it, The Last of Us Part 2 has been, and will continue to be, one of the most controversial games of its time.
Many TLOU fans fell in love with its bold narrative and the introduction to Abby while others felt that Naughty Dog went too far with its violent and revengeful stance and took a harsh viewpoint – some without even playing it entirely, or at all.
While emotions are still raw 11 months on from its release, Neil Druckmann has given some hope to those who want to see more of where Part 2 left off.
Whilst speaking on an episode of the Script Apart podcast surrounding the narrative and plot of The Last of Us Part 2, Druckmann let fans know that a Part 3 to the title isn’t out of the question and an outline for it has been done.
“I don’t know how much I want to reveal and I did write an outline for a story, that we’re not making” Druckmann continues “but I hope one day can see the light of day – that explores a little bit what happens after this game. We’ll see.”
Talking more about a possible Part 3, Druckmann indicates that if they were to go down the sequel route, he’d want to keep on the same path as he did with The Last of Us Part 2 in terms of “structural and thematic themes”.
Although dedicated fans will be excited to know that a continuation is, at least, something Naughty Dog is considering, there’s also the matter of what’s happening with the standalone multiplayer for TLOU2 as nothing has been really discussed in terms of if this is still happening or not.
There’s also the report that the studio is working on The Last of Us remake for the PS5. This news certainly divided fans where some can’t wait for it and others are confused on why an eight-year-old game should be top of their development list.
