As the follow-up to the acclaimed original title, The Last of Us Part II looks to be putting forward the same balance of action and character that made the first game so compelling, and now we have a few new images of some of the core characters we'll see in the game.

Developer Naughty Dog has shared a few new images for a few characters from The Last of Us Part II, which gives us a closer look at each of the most prominent characters shown during the title's gameplay reveal from earlier this week, and the names of their accompanying actors.

The first of course is Ellie, who will once again be played by actress Ashley Johnson (Blindspot), followed afterward by Dina, who is played by actress Shannon Woodward (Westworld) and who was previously announced last year to be joining the cast, though (at the time) her exact role was not yet confirmed. The final character image released by the studio is for Jesse, who will be played by actor Stephen Chang.

While we didn't get an exact confirmation of a release date for the highly-anticipated sequel, we did learn a number of new details yesterday from Naughty Dog regarding The Last of Us Part II from an onstage presentation at the E3 Coliseum, and if what we've learned so far is any indication, hopefully Part II will be just as incredible as the original title from 2013.

The Last of Us Part II is currently in development for PS4. For a closer look at the new images of Ellie, Dina, and Jesse, you can look on below:
