The Last of Us Part 2 evoked so many feelings in its players and whether you hated it or loved it, there's no denying that Naughty Dog did an incredible job at pushing its audience to their limits. Part 2 made players feel anger, hate, grief, love and joy in abundance, and one of the main focuses of that hate and anger was the death of Joel at the hands of Abby. Abby's arc, in my opinion, was just as profound as Ellie's and such an important part of the game so it's of little wonder why so many artists and cosplayers love to step into the shoes and mind of this formidable and complex character. Naughty Dog and Disney artist Alice X. Zhang shows us her illustration of the one and only Abby in this striking art piece.

Alice X. Zhang is a Chinese-American illustrator and fine artist known for her expressive, emotive portraits. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a B.F.A, and began a full-time freelance career in the film, comic, and gaming industries. Her clients throughout the years have included Marvel, BBC Worldwide (Doctor Who, Sherlock), DC Films, Lucasfilm (Star Wars), Naughty Dog (The Last of Us Part 2), Team Liquid, and Disney Books (Powers of a Girl), as well as two solo exhibitions at Bottleneck Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. If you're a fan of The Last of Us artwork, then Alice really needs no introduction as her incredible paintings have been showcased all over social media so you have probably already spotted some.

However, you may not have seen Alice's newest fanart depicting a wonderful drawing of Abby from The Last of Us Part 2. The piece displays a rather determined and powerful persona, which is understandable given how physically and mentally strong Abby truly is. We see Abby's trademark ponytail draped across her broad shoulders and fresh battle wounds etched along areas of her skin. Although I'm not sure what Abby is intensely forced on in the painting, it remained me of the scene where Owen and her where standing on the snowy mountainside staring over to Jackson and planning how they would infiltrate the secure town, just before her chance encounter with Joel.

If you love this particular illustration of Abby, you will probably enjoy Alice's other sketch of Ellie and Riley from The Last of Us: Left Behind where Riley makes a moving speech at the end of the game after she and Ellie have been bitten. The amazingly talented Alice also commissioned the cover portraits for the special editions of The Last of Us Part II steelbook and also her animated Ellie portrait that is featured on the PS4 Dynamic Theme which comes with the multiple special editions of The Last of Us Part II as well. To check out Alice's other works of art that include Wonderwoman, The Witcher, Captain Marvel, Stranger Things, Doctor Who and so much more, head over to her official website or follow her on Twitter.

If you happened to think you were imagining hearing director/writer Neil Druckmann and co-writer Halley Gross chatting over the radio as two WLF members towards the end of the game with Abby, you weren’t wrong as apparently Druckmann and Gross lent their voices for this particular scene.
