The Last of Us Remastered Will NOT Feature Cross-Play Between PS4 and PS3 Version

By Giuseppe Nelva

July 8, 2014

Korean website Ruliweb and quite a few other local media sources wrote that The Last of Us Remastered for PS4 features cross-play with the PS3 version, reporting a press release sent earlier by Sony Computer Entertainment Korea. The news have since been reproduced by multiple western websites.

Unfortunately that will not be the case, as the press release has been later corrected with Sony, with the clarification that the cross-play feature was just a mistake as found out by NeoGAF user Catmario.

Of course the news seemed to be spurious from the get go, as it would be extremely illogical to pitch players seeing the game in 1080p and 60 fps in multiplayer matches against others that can display it only at 720p and 30 fps.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
