The Latest Trailer for Child of Light Shows How the Game's Ethereal Soundtrack was Brought to Life

April 9, 2014

Child of Light has some of the most captivating visuals I’ve ever seen. They set the perfect tone for the magical realm that the game takes place in. As awe inspiring as the visuals may be, they alone wouldn’t be enough to truly immerse you into the world. This is where the music comes in.

The soundtrack was composed by musician Cœur de Pirate. She was given free reign to create music that was both magical and playful. The game does have darker and heavier moments though, like during boss battles. For these, she was given an orchestra to really bring out the thrill and excitement of these encounters. The video also talks about some of the foley work that was done.

Child of Light will be released for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on April 30th.
