The Legend of Zelda Becomes Next Co-Op Game to Get the “Twitch Plays” Treatment

“Twitch Plays Pokemon” took the web by storm over the last week as players engaged in its unique massively-multiplayer challenge of playing through the entirety of Pokemon (Red and Blue) together through an in-game chat window giving commands.

Since the live stream’s incredible viewership of over 6.5 million overall views, many imitators have also spawned their own channels and lifestreams dedicated to the format of collaboratively playing through games online. In this case, the original NES classic, The Legend of Zelda, has also been given its own “Twitch Plays” stream by Twitch user Zach Gerloch.

Following the format of Twitch Plays Pokemon, this stream provides players the effort to play through the entirety of the original The Legend of Zelda via commands in the in-game chat, through an IRC chat bot script. For more on the steam and to check out live Zelda in action, you can see the Twitch Plays The Legend of Zelda stream here.
