Nintendo has launched a new holiday website today, celebrating The Legend of Zelda's history and allowing a glimpse into the critically acclaimed franchise's future.

Beginning with an image of the Triforce, followed by a amalgamation of triangles flooded the screen, each showcasing a separate entry in the series, the center triangle reads "A link to holidays past...and those yet to come", then lifts to reveal gameplay of Link snowboarding down a snowy landscape within the world of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The clip ends by wishing viewers Happy Holidays and  "a legendary new year."

It all makes for quite the little treat, especially when keeping in mind that Nintendo has prepared for itself quite the spectacular next couple of months, with a livestream presentation scheduled for their upcoming console, the Nintendo Switch, set for January 12th, and the device itself launching this March.

New gameplay footage of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in action on the Wii U was revealed during The Game Awards earlier this month, and a surprise on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon revealed the game running on Nintendo's newest piece of hardware.

Whatever happens next year, times will certainly be kept interesting.
