The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Meets Pokémon with Awesome Sheikah Poké Ball

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Meets Pokémon with Awesome Sheikah Poké Ball

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild meets Pokémon in a new Sheikah artstyle-inspired Poké Ball that we need to be created.

Another day, another amazing fan creation of the Nintendo variety. Even better, this one is pulling from two iconic series: Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda. However, an Instagram artist has managed to merge a Poké Ball and the Sheikah artstyle from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild into a pretty awesome artist rendition.

Seen in the Instagram post below, user redbloodpivot has made a crossover of the blue-orange Sheikah style and a standard Poké Ball. Created using Maya and set to a piano orchestration, you can see some of the intricate design work around the ball:

Even better, this is not the first time he has tackled a Sheikah Poké Ball. You can view some other styles and color schemes, including ones that look more like decayed guardians:

As you may have noted, these are all artist creations in modeling software — so, unfortunately, there is no way to grab this in real life to put on your mantle. But hopefully someone with lighting and 3D printing skills can take on this project next.

Both The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon series have always been rife territory for fan art projects and re-creations. If you missed it yesterday, a cartoonist recreated an Akira Toriyama-inspired Link (which is now topping my most-requested artstyle for a future game). Additionally, a fan created an excellent The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild animated video that easily captures the magic and scope of the game.

On the Pokémon end of things, we’ve seen some cool activities outside of the main game. WWE’s Andrade “Cien” Almas and Zelina Vega pulled off their best Team Rocket impression in some cool cosplay. Not to mention the Poké Ball-themed waffle maker that can add some nerd-cred to your breakfast.

Either way, we can’t ever have too much Pokémon or The Legend of Zelda in our lives. If you haven’t picked up The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or the two latest Nintendo Switch Pokémon games, both are available now on Amazon. Meanwhile, check out a YouTube video of the Sheikah Poké Ball below:
