We see a lot of wonderful fan art that comes through the DualShockers door that is usually depicting a beautiful scene or reimaging of a popular gaming character. But very few times we get an art piece that marries the beauty and the beast so tightly together. I guess, after all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For those of you who have played through the sixth main installment of The Legend of Zelda series, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, you'll know what I'm talking about when it comes to Majora's Mask, the scary, cursed mask from the classic title. To make matters worse, we have some fan art of the creepy mask that's terrifying but also mesmerizing to look at.

Japanese artist "Appetizers", as they are known on Twitter, has illustrated a fantastic, if not a little sinister, fan art piece of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. The immaculate drawing is so detailed that you could almost reach out and touch it. It also reminds me of Ember Lab's upcoming action-adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits due to the magical forest element. For those of you who don't know what The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is about, the game was first released in 2000 on the Nintendo 64 and then the Gamecube a few years later. The story follows the narrative of Link and a wayward imp called the Skull Kid who steals an artifact called Majora's Mask from a traveling mask salesman.

As much as the title may have spooked younger players, the title did earn Majora’s Mask a very positive reception even though it only sold half of what Ocarina of Time achieved. You can check out the artist's other illustrations over on their Pixiv account where I'm sure you'll find a piece of art just as incredible as their The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask piece.

Last year, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask celebrated its 20th anniversary. To relive some old memories of the game, check out a 3D trailer from Nintendo right here.
