The latest video in the DuckTales: Remastered Duckumentary series discusses art design, specifically how the development team redesigned Scrooge McDuck, Magica De Spell and other classic characters from the game.
The developers at WayFoward talk about the differences between Carl Barks’s original design in the DuckTales comics versus the Disney series. They also discussed how they went about animating the characters, such as making Scrooge actually breathe when he’s stationary, as well as giving certain characters larger roles, like the nephews, niece and Magica De Spell. One of the developers even purchased a cane with a hook in order to better understand how to animate Scrooge using his cane.
