The news were kickstarted yesterday by insider information, but today they're official: Sony Computer Entertainment announced that The Order: 1886 has been delayed to "Early 2015."

Taking some extra time to deliver on the promises made at last year's E3 was cited as the reason of the delay.

Together with the announcement we also get a new gallery of sweet screenshots and the final box art and key artwork, that you can check out at the bottom of the post.

Most interestingly, one of the screenshots showcases a "power" named "Blacksight." It's probably derived from the Black Water of which we already saw the healing properties, and it allows the player to "select enemy targets." It seems to be some kind of targeted bullet time.

Ultimately, as I said yesterday and as as the legendary quote attributed to Shigeru Miyamoto goes: “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.” More time only means a better degree of polish, and this Fall definitely seems way too crowded already.
