Developer Firesprite is currently at E3 2017, and while there, they are talking about the new sci-fi horror title, The Persistence. Specifically, they have provided details on one of the enemy types that players can expect to encounter in the game.

In The Persistence, players traverse a science vessel of the same name in the year 2521. When tragedy strikes the vessel, the crew is mutated into varying degrees of horrific forms. Over the course of the game, surviving crew members are awoken from cryogenic sleep one-by-one. As these crew members perish (as the player controls them), a new crew member is awoken and the elements of the ship shift to accommodate new horrors.

The newest of these horrors to be revealed by Firesprite is the Berserker, a nine foot monstrosity with some serious anger issues to work through. In most cases, it’s a good idea to just run from this guy, but there are some ways to defeat him if the opportunity arises.

First, you’ll need to craft the ‘Anti-Grav Smash,’ a power-up that allows you to smash enemies into the ground. Or you can create ‘Swarm Droids,’ which consist of six tiny military flyers that will seek out threats and zap your enemy into submission. However you decide to deal damage to the Berserker, he will flurry into a rage to smash everything in sight, including other mutants. But the developer warns that may not be the only thing he sees.

“Of course, if he spots you then his snarling face is going to be the last thing you ever see!”

Firesprite has promised that over the coming months, further details will be revealed regarding the other enemy types that are coming to the game.

The Persistence is getting released exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR. No release date has been provided for the game at this time. For more information on this title, including its interesting multiplayer mode, check out the official website.
