The Japanese developer Cyberstep announced today that the free to play MMORPG Onigiri will be heading to the PS4 in addition to the previously announced PC version. The open beta for PS4 will begin in Japan on the same day as the release of the console (February the 22nd), while the official service is scheduled to begin only five days later, on the 27th.

While there are no news yet about the availability of the PS4 port outside of Japan, it’s definitely not unlikely, as the English version of the game already passed its alpha testing for PC and there’s even an English official site for it.

Onigiri (the name is a word play between the popular Japanese rice balls and the kanji for “Cutting Demons”) is an action based MMORPG with a setting deeply rooted  in the myths, fables, stories, and legends of old Japan. It features a peculiar partner system, giviving players eight NPC companions that will grow with them as their bonds of friendship grow.

If you want to know more about the game, below you can find a playlist with a few official trailers and videos, and a gallery with illustrations and screenshots.
