Square Enix’s upcoming title The Quiet Man that follows the story of a deaf protagonist is getting an original music track composed by Imogen Heap and titled, “The Quiet”.
While we don’t get to hear the track right now, we do get to see Imogen Heap herself featured in a short interview —You can find this below— on Square Enix’s Japanese YouTube channel. In this interview as detailed yesterday from the live stream coverage, the musician speaks about how she received a hand-written letter asking her to compose an original track for The Quiet Man. She explained that the letter stated. “Because we want you to write the most beautiful song you have ever written in your entire life.”
Heap continued saying that she was directed to videos of deaf people having cochlear implants switched on and hearing for the first time, or hearing more than before. The reactions of those people being able to hear are what the developers want for people playing The Quiet Man when they finally hear the song. Imogen also states the song will be “at the end”.
More details about the track will be revealed later this year according to a press release today. We’ve recently seen a new trailer for the title as well as a gameplay trailer, and they’ll be limited edition versions of the title available from the 1st November until the 15th November 2018. The Quiet Man will be launching on PC and PS4 on November 1st 2018, a week later a free patch will introduce audio to the game. You can watch the interview below.
