How to unlock the quest

First, in order to unlock The Saga of Mr Forgetful, you’ll need to have cleared part 2 / day 2 of the “Through the Mists” quest, which is “Octave of the Maushiro”. The Saga of Mr Forgetful will unlock one daily reset after you’ve cleared that.

Once you visit Tsurumi island again, Paimon will notify you that Roald is on the island. Go speak to him at the Teleport Waypoint next to the sole Waverider Waypoint of the island.

How to clear The Saga of Mr Forgetful in Genshin Impact – Ruin Murals locations

First, you’ll need to bring 10 Fluorescent Fungus to Roald. You can easily find them near trees on the island, especially near the entrance of Tsurumi Island. You’ll find ten in no time.

All six murals are close to each other, in the underground ruins of Shirikoro Peak. You’ve already been there, and you’ve actually already seen the murals. When clearing the “Find your way through the mist and make an offering at the perches” sub quest. You can read how to access the ruins with our dedicated guide.

Lastly, there is a single mural that might be hard to spot and can give you trouble. Because it’s technically still on a wall, but on the ceiling.

You can easily take a photo of that mural if you go to the spot of the blue icon seen in the map screenshot above. However, that room in the ruins is hidden by a wall with a picture of the Thunderbird. The wall is at the left of the first round door of the ruins. So you’ll have to equip the Peculiar Pinion gadget and use it to make the wall disappear.

Genshin Impact is playable right now on PC, PS4, PS5, iOS, and Android. A Nintendo Switch version is currently in development too. You can always reach me for a chat about Japanese games on Twitter @A_iyane07.
