The Sandman is an upcoming superhero series based on a DC comic book series by Neil Gaiman. Netflix announced the live-action adaptation back in 2019 and ordered eleven episodes for the first season. Well, after a long wait, we finally got the first official trailer for the series, along with its release date.

Netflix released the new look at The Sandman on the first day of Geeked Week. The latest trailer introduces us to some of the main characters in the series. Apart from that, the creators also confirmed that the show would premiere on August 5th, so the first season of the anticipated series is only a couple of months away.

The Sandman features the journey of Morpheus, who is one of the seven Endless. The King of Dreams Morpheus returns to his kingdom 105 years after being held captive for an occult ritual. Now, he takes it upon himself to restore the peace to the kingdom while going against several powerful foes.

Tom Sturridge, the famous English actor known for his roles in Being Julia and Like Minds, will take on the role of Morpheus. Also, Gwendoline Christie, the British actor who played Brienne of Tarth in HBO's Game of Thrones, will portray Lucifer in the series.
