As a growing platform compared to its bigger rivals (like Steam), EA's Origin catalog may not quite have the same scope as Steam's, but still manages to have some cool giveaways and freebies as a bonus, such as the recent release of The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection available free of charge.

EA announced through their website's Help section that The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection is now available to the public for free on Origin, as the news comes shortly after EA announced policy changes and that the company would not be updating the game with new content, and that originally EA would offer a free digital version to those that previously purchased The Sims 2.

The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection is available for all Origin users by entering the code "I-LOVE-THE-SIMS" in the "Redeem Product Code" section of the platform's "Game" section. The offer however is a limited time deal, as the Ultimate Collection will be available for free until July 31st, 2014.

For more on how to unlock The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free on your Origin account, you can check out EA's Help guidelines here, and grab a copy of the game before the deal expires on July 31st, 2014.
