The Story is Everything in New NBA 2K16 Trailer Featuring Spike Lee

While each year sports titles provide a more gradual change of evolution and innovation through their yearly updates, one of the more radical changes seeming to come to the NBA is the introduction of more cinematic qualities, thanks to the involvement of director Spike Lee (Do the Right ThingOldboy) in the series’ upcoming NBA 2K16.

A new trailer released showcases Lee’s involvement with the latest iteration for this year, and while the trailer features no gameplay from the upcoming NBA 2K16, instead it focuses on the story of basketball and provides a good tease at Lee’s role in the next title, which appears to be writing and directing a narrative around a young basketball player just starting their career in the NBA.

NBA 2K16 will release for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, iOS, and Android on September 29th, 2015 – in the meantime, you can check out the new trailer below featuring Spike Lee:
