Well, that was an unexpected surprise. Tarsier Studios, developers behind the creepy title, Little Nightmares just unexpectedly launched a Nintendo Switch title named The Stretchers and it's available now in the UK.

The title seems to be a Nintendo Switch exclusive and is also published by Nintendo. It's a co-op focused game in which players take control of two paramedics who are tasked with picking up injured patients, named "Dizzies" in the game, with their stretcher and then getting them to the hospital. Stat!

The goal is to visit areas in the world and collect as many of these Dizzies as you can and bring them back to the ambulance. While there is a stretcher to use, players can also use their hands to grab the patient's limbs and...well lob them about.

The art style of The Stretchers is certainly a lot more vibrant than the studio's famed Little Nightmares, and it's also a lot wackier. The trailer shows off a crazy ambulance driving experience which sees players smashing through fences and driving up ramps with rocket boosts.

That's not all though, as players also have to perform co-op challenges along the way from the looks of things. Cutting trees, getting hosed down, and navigating precarious areas while carrying an injured person. The challenges certainly seem to plan to put players through co-op hell requiring communication and teamwork to overcome obstacles. The players share the screen too so there's no split-screen system allowing players to run off too far.

The Stretchers is available for 1-2 players and is local play only, At the moment the game hasn't appeared on the eShop US store, but in the UK it's available for £17.99 and launched today seemingly as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.
