As we arrive full force into Pride Month this year, content creators partake in the third annual streaming event to celebrate LGBTQ+ diversity in gaming as well as raising money for charity.

Pride Month is celebrated every June to honour the 1969 Stonewall riots and doing their part for this important period, Season of Pride, presented by MidBoss, will feature more than 65 queer Twitch streamers raising funds for life-changing LGBTQ+ charities that inlude Trans Lifeline, Trevor Project, and GaymerX.

MidBoss, the developer behind the cyberpunk adventure 2064: Read Only Memories, hopes to increase their goal this time from last year’s $25,000 raised and with the fantastic line-up of streamers they have acquired as well as games, exceeding that target is looking ever more likely.

Joining in to raise money for these life-changing charities is Twitch streamers 8BitDylanDEEREMiaByteJeff BrutlagUrbanBohemian, and SlicedRaven as well as many more content creators. Viewers will see games that include queer representation of characters, themes, and stories like Dead by Daylight, The Sims 4, Sayonara Wild Hearts, Later Daters, Arcade Spirits, Monster Prom, Gone Home, Kitty Powers' Love Life, and many more revealed on the day.

CEO of MidBoss, Cade Peterson, says

“Season of Pride brings together queer gamers from all over the world to celebrate the impact good LGBTQ+ representation in our hobby can have, be it on players looking to see themselves in games or through empathy to help normalize queer life.

The rebranding reflects the fact that June isn’t pride month all over the world, nor is it summer everywhere. We want all our gayming fellows to feel welcome at Season of Pride.”

The full schedule and details about participating games and streamers will be revealed on the Season of Pride website in the coming weeks. You can tune in to the Twitch stream from 9:00 a.m. to midnight PT Thursday, July 1 through until Saturday, July 31, 2021, by heading over to the MidBoss Twitch Channel.
