Just before E3 this year, Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive announced that The Surge 2 was coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 24, 2019. During E3, a brand new cinematic trailer was released. Now, a couple weeks after E3, a 9 minute gameplay video featuring commentary from Adam Hetenyi, Deck13's Head of Game Design, was released.

For most fans, this is the first lengthy uncut look at gameplay. The only other time gameplay has been shown off to the public so far was at Gamescom, though DualShockers checked out the game behind closed doors at E3 2018. For the most part, the game looks like a polished improvement upon the Soulslike combat the original had and still manages to stand out thanks to the limb targeting system.

This video also gives us our first good look at Jericho City, which is where most of The Surge 2 is set. Overall, the walkthrough gives us a very good look at many of the the types of missions, characters, enemies, and weapons players will be encountering over the course of their adventure. We also get a look at the new directional blocking, which should be a useful skill in the final game. If you want to see DualShockers' thoughts on the original, check out our review.
