Even though publisher Focus Home Interactive isn't set to attend E3 2019 next week, that hasn't prevented them from today divulging some new information about one of its upcoming 2019 releases.Just recently, Deck13's The Surge 2 had its release date leaked on the Australian Microsoft Store with a supposed date set for September. Rather than shying away from the leak and pretending that it didn't happen, Focus Home ended up just formally revealing the official release date a few hours later and confirmed that The Surge 2 will indeed be launching on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 24, 2019.This is the first information that we have had on The Surge 2 in quite some time. Originally revealed last year, the Souls-like game hasn't been shown off too often by Focus Home too often in recent months. However, with a release date now in sight, and coming far sooner than I think many might have initially expected, we'll likely be seeing a whole lot more of The Surge 2 as we head towards release. Hopefully, this sequel can be a pleasant surprise in the same way that the original game was back when it arrived in 2017.Even though Focus Home itself won't have a booth at E3 this year, maybe we'll see more of The Surge 2 on stage at another company's press conference next week. If that does indeed transpire, we'll be sure to let you know.
