With Red Dead Redemption 2 launching in just a few weeks, now might be the perfect time to down don your cowboy hat and step into the wild west. However, stand-out souls-like title The Surge is taking the classic cowboy concept in an entirely different direction with it’s latest DLC pack The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented.
Originally announced last month, The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented takes place in a western setting put together by a crazy scientist named Dr. Rischbotor deep inside a CREO facility. The latest trailer shows exactly what players can expect when they mix cybernetics with a classic cowboy overtone.
Opening up with calm landscape shots showing a number of the locations that will be available within The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented, the trailer takes a sharp turn displaying the game’s heavy-hitting action. Armed with wrist-mount blades formed from six-shooter pistols and carrying a number of large sweeping weapons, we see The Surge’s protagonist Warren engage in combat with multiple foes. There are visceral displays as he dismembers grounded opponents along with moments where he brutalizes foes with a coffin. Dr. Rischbotor can be heard throughout the video egging him on and jeering him.
The Surge: The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented DLC pack is available now on PC, PlayStaion4, and Xbox One.
