Developer Deck13 and publisher Focus Home Interactive announced today that they have released a demo for their recently launched hardcore sci-fi RPG The Surge on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A launch trailer for the demo was also released, and shows quite a few streamers reacting to the early parts of the game.

The demo covers the early parts of the game, when Warren first wakes up after his exoskeleton installation goes wrong. Progression one makes in this demo will also carry over to the full game if they decide to purchase the game. You’ll pick up exactly where you left off. DualShockers actually had a chance to play a preview build of The Surge that is similar to the demo before the game released. You can also check out our review of the game where we gave The Surge an 8.0, and our interview with Jan Klose, Managing Director at Deck13.

The game also recently received a new patch on PC. Patch 6 was built on community feedback, and besides bringing many balance tweaks and bug fixes to The Surge, it also brings additional PC customization options to the game, such as an FOV slider and giving the player the ability to control when music plays in the Medbay. You can read the full patch notes here.
