Last year, indie developer onebitbeyond and publisher Devolver Digital unveiled The Swords of Ditto, a co-op procedurally generated The Legend of Zelda inspired RPG for PC and PS4. Until today, the game just had a vague "early 2018" release window. Fortunately, onebitbeyond took to PlayStation Blog today to announced that the game will be releasing on April 24 and unveil a new gameplay trailer.

For those of you who don't know, The Swords of Ditto takes place in the Land of Ditto, which is being attacked by the evil Mormo. Players control several generations of heroes as they try to stop Mormo, but if you die, you'll have to start over with a new hero. During each journey, players will begin by obtaining the titular Sword, and will then have to make their way through a series of new, procedurally generated dungeons.

Depending on how players do, the world will change in subsequent runs. If you keep losing to Mormo's forces, then the world will only get more dreary each time through; that being said, if you do really well during a certain run, the world will be much brighter the next time through. The sword will also be leveled up each playthrough, so players can only get more powerful.
