You may recall that back in August The Town of Light publisher Wired Productions and developer LKA announced that 25% of each copy sold of its first-person adventure title would be donated toward mental health awareness organization Take This. Well, the money has been counted and the total donation amount was significant.
The efforts of partnerships between retailers such as GamesPlanet, Humble Bundle, Xbox, PlayStation, Green Man Gaming, and Steam came together to generously donate $10,000 to Take This for the promotion of mental health awareness, as well as “safe places” at conventions and expositions so that anyone, including those who suffer from mental illness, may take refuge in a calmer area near show floors.
Although a significant step toward mental health awareness, The Town of Light team does not plan to stop at this. It is a mere first step for Wired Productions and LKA who are on the path of a year-long campaign for mental health awareness that includes various charity events.
