Originally released back in 2014, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter took players through a breathtaking landscape while coming into supernatural and gruesome horrors, with the title finally set to arrive on Xbox One in just a few weeks.

Developer The Astronauts has announced that The Vanishing of Ethan Carter will release for Xbox One owners on January 19th, 2018, and along with bringing the award-winning narrative-focused game to the platform, the Xbox One release will also feature full 4K resolution support for Xbox One X, and a brand new Free Roam mode coming to the game for the first time.

Cited as "one of the most requested features among fans," the Free Roam mode will allow players to explore the game's Red Creek Valley outside of the game's narrative, letting players be truly immersed in the environments without having to complete the narrative elements of the game.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is available now on PS4 and PC, and will be heading to Xbox One on January 19th, 2018.
