As only one week is left standing between players and the long-awaited RPG epic The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, those anxiously waiting to see the conclusion of Geralt’s adventures can take solace in knowing that as of today, you can start downloading the game and get ready for its release the moment it’s out.
CD Projekt RED has announced that pre-loading for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available starting today for Xbox One and PC, through either Steam or the newly-launched GOG Galaxy client, while pre-loading for the PS4 and EA Origin versions of the game will be “coming soon.”
Like other digital titles available through Steam, Xbox Games Store, or the PlayStation Store, pre-loading will allow those that have pre-ordered the game to begin downloading the game ahead of its release next week – once the game is launched, players can then jump right in without having to wait for downloads to finish on launch day.
Pre-loading applies only to the digital version of the game, with the digital copy unlocking on 1am CET on May 19th, 2015 – for those in the US, that means the game will actually unlock in the evening the day before on May 18th. Retail copies of the game will still arrive on schedule on May 19th, 2015.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 19th, 2015.
