In the brand new trailer for the penultimate episode of The Walking Dead: The Final Season, you can catch a glimpse at the dark side of Clementine as well as get a tease of Lee's return to the series.

The game has had some development issues - if that's one way to put it. Back in September 2018, Telltale Games laid off 250 staff members with no prior warning or severance. It released the second episode of its largest game's final season with the little staff it had left, and closed its doors in November 2018.

The company's executives were met with outrage and criticism for the way they handled the studio's closure and subsequent termination of its employees. Since then, staff have either moved to other studios with open arms, are still looking for jobs, or have joined a small team at Skybound Games to complete The Walking Dead: The Final Season.

The team, named "Still Not Bitten", have been working hard to complete the remainder of the game - announcing the release date of Episode 3 during the Kinda Funny Games Showcase. Since then, fans have held their breath in anticipation.

Now, the game's third episode - rebranded without Telltale's name in the title - is on track to launch January 15, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via the Epic Games Store. You can view the trailer below - it's quite chilling.
