The Witcher 2 Patch 1.1 Removes DRM and Improves Performance

May 27, 2011

A new patch has been released today for The Witcher 2 that does something I’m sure many gamers wish other games would do; removes the DRM from the game. I’ll pause while you rejoice. All done? OK, because in addition to that little nugget other improvements include increasing frame rate performance as well as the ability to invert your mouse, remapping directional control on the keyboard and more. The patch also includes the first free DLC for the game, “Troll Trouble”.

You must download this patch manually though, as it won’t work through the launcher. Head to the official website to begin that, and as always users are encouraged to read the “readme” file included before installing. As a side-note, the team is aware that Steam users are experiencing very large downloads. They hope to have that issue resolved by Monday.
