Today CD Projekt RED released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's patch 1.03 on PC, the patch improved anistropic filtering on Ultra detail to 16x, and introduced a new "high" sharpening setting in the post-processing menu.

In order to check out the effect, we compared the two patches. Below you can see a few pairs of screenshots with version 1.02 on top and 1.03 below it. All screenshots have been taken on full ultra-settings, and 1.03 screenshots have sharpening set on the new "high" option.

Of course, you should click on each screenshot to see it at full resolution, then flip between tabs on your browser to appreciate the differences.

The difference, especially in texture detail, is very apparent.

It'll be interesting to see whether CD Projekt RED will add a sharpening feature to the console versions with the dedicated patch 1.03 on PS4 and Xbox One or not, but we'll probably learn about that soon.
