Following the reveal earlier this year at E3 2019 that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would be coming to Switch, CD Projekt Red has today announced exactly when it'll land on the platform.

The Witcher 3 will now launch on Switch this fall on October 15. This will mark the game's first time on a Nintendo platform. In addition, what is being released is the Complete Edition of The Witcher 3, meaning that all of the DLC that was released post-launch will be coming with it.

While it is a pretty impressive feat to even bring The Witcher 3 to Switch in the first place, it definitely seems to be leaving something to be desired in terms of visuals on the platform. CD Projekt Red released a new trailer for the game as well to coincide with this release date announcement, and compared to its counterparts on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, it looks so barren.

I mean, just look at this still from the trailer:

I'm really not trying to bash on the Switch version of The Witcher 3 too hard because, as I said, it really is impressive that it's even running on the handheld-console hybrid. But if you haven't played The Witcher 3 yet and have other platforms available, maybe this trailer for Switch will convince you to quit holding out.

You can check out both the new trailer for The Witcher 3 and a 40-minute gameplay video featuring footage from the Switch iteration down below.
