Today a large batch of design documents for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been leaked, apparently taken from the Google Drive account of a developer at CD Projekt RED.

While we won't publish most of the specific contents of the documents, as they include really big spoilers (which means that we also have to caution you against looking for them, unless you want to spoil the endings for yourself like I had to do), they include a lot of interesting data that can give us an idea of the scope of the game.

First of all we discover that the game will include five areas, a prologue area, the already known Skellige, Novigrad and No Man's Land, and a fifth one which I won't name, as we'll return to a place appeared in a previous game, and I'd much rather let you discover which one it is for yourself.

The Witcher 3 will also come packed with a whole lot of character models for NPCs. Here's a list (the numbers refer to how many different models there are):

  • 34 Primary NPC
  • 61 Secondary NPC

Novigrad

  • 6 Male Bards
  • 6 Female Bards
  • 6 Courtesans
  • 34 Citizen, of which 10 old.
  • 16 Female citizen, of which 8 old.
  • 9 Rich female citizen
  • 20 Poor citizen
  • 11 Poor female citizen
  • 6 Sailors
  • 8 Female elves
  • 4 Female Scoiatael
  • 4 Fisstech dealers

Villagers

  • 12 men of which 4 old
  • 8 women of which 4 old

Skellige

  • 14 Villagers of which 5 old
  • 14 Female villagers of which 5 old

The design documents also list 64 different monsters and a whopping 174 musical tracks. There will also be 33 collectible books providing monster lore, which The Witcher players will be familiar with. Of course we should keep in mind that the game is still work in progress, so those numbers aren't final.

As an added bonus, looks like the folks at CD Projekt RED will still give us some saucy moments to enjoy, as the description of a quest (which I censored in order to keep it spoiler free) reveals.

We talk to XXXXX XXXX and she gives us a task: remove the curse from XXX XXXXX in the XXXXXX. (Boob physics eye candy, appropriately prepared dialogue).

Looks like CD Projekt RED is pulling all the stops in order to give us a colorful playground characterized by a large variety of people and monsters. After all, you wouldn't want to buy your Fisstech always from the same dude, would you?

Jokes aside, be aware that the design documents are out in the wild, so keep guarded for spoilers. A misplaced prank on this can easily ruin your enjoyment of the game.
