The Witcher Netflix Series is Filming in a Breathtaking Location

Netflix's The Witcher series' newest filming location in Hungary is absolutely breathtaking in these photos.

Since Netflix announced they were turning The Witcher into a series, they’ve been stingy with juicy details on the shows progress. Aside from announcing a few cast members, giving us a sneak peek of Henry Cavill in the iconic white hair, and announcing Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri. They’ve kept a tight lid on everything else until now.

A short video surfaced from r/netflixwitcher of the newest film site at Vajdahunyad Castle, in Budapest, Hungary. Hungary is where the show is doing the bulk of its filming in addition to Poland. Unfortunately, the clip doesn’t show much, but gives a glimpse of the film site and adds a bit to the imagination.

A little video from yesterday’s filming at the castle. Some pics from the interior coming later. from r/netflixwitcher

Since the footage isn’t great, the Twitter account for r/netflixwitcher did some research and was able to find photos of the castle. This may give us a better idea of what to expect from the show when it airs. These photos do not disappoint either because they’re absolutely breathtaking.

While we’re still unsure of how much of the castle we’ll actually see in the show when it premieres, we can hope the production team will give us amazing scenes with this castle in the background.

There’s speculation that The Witcher will be released in either 2019 or 2020, with filming set to wrap up in just a few months. That being said, we can all agree that we want Netflix to take their time with this to make it great as they are reportedly already happy with the series. Here’s hoping they’ll give fans of the game series and the books something they’ll never forget.

Thanks, Comicbook.
