With the most recent trailer that debuted at Comic Con a few weeks ago, anticipation is higher than ever for the upcoming The Witcher TV series that is on the way from Netflix. Helmed by experienced TV producer and screenwriter Lauren S. Hissrich, what we've seen so far from the series makes it seem like it's in good hands, especially with Hissrich detailing some of her experiences while visiting the developers of the acclaimed Witcher video games.Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the creator and showrunner for the upcoming TV adaptation of The Witcher from Netflix, shared a few insights on Twitter regarding her past visit to CD Projekt Red, most likely in the lead-up to the pre-production/production work beginning on the TV series. While CD Projekt Red is not directly involved with the production of the series--and the fact that the series is explicitly based on the original Witcher books instead of the video games--it's not hard to imagine that Hissrich would want to get some insight from the studio that helped bolster the franchise's popularity around the world. Specifically, Hissrich shared that visiting CD Projekt Red "was a top highlight of my entire Witcher experience," with many employees of the studio (as seen in the tweet below) seeming to be in full support of the upcoming television series. In response to a few fan questions, Hissrich mentioned that one of her favorite experiences of visiting CD Projekt Red was her time "speaking to people whose lives are passionately and inextricably tied to Geralt and The Witcher world," while also getting to share her own love and admiration of the world and its characters.Likewise, Hissrich also noted that in her tour of the studio, she also saw "the amazing progress" with the studio's next project, Cyberpunk 2077. While it's unclear when Hissrich saw the game, with its release date now confirmed for next spring, we have to imagine that it's definitely come a long way since it was first announced. The Witcher TV series from Netflix will debut on the streaming service later this year.
