The Witness Developer Jonathan Blow Claims Upcoming Title Will Be “10x as Big as Braid”
Back in 2008, Jonathan Blow’s wildly-imaginative Braid became one of the biggest indie breakout hits to grace last generation, and while details on the developer’s upcoming title The Witness have been relatively few and far between, the latest hints from Blow suggest the game will be a much bigger and more expansive experience than Braid.
In a series of tweets sent by Blow through his personal Twitter account, Blow detailed that compared to his previous title Braid, his next title The Witness may exceed Braid‘s length by over “10x.”
So The Witness is like 10x as big as Braid. Or something. Disclaimer: The time may change as the game continues to be worked on!

That’s 380 minutes. I can 100% Braid in under 38 minutes (if you don’t count a certain cloud, cough cough). — Jonathan Blow (@Jonathan_Blow) February 8, 2015
That said, Blow mentioned that the title would normally take much longer than his time, which was a speed run, and not your average play-through.
Like, I would be surprised if there are many people who could 100% the game in less than 50 hours. (We haven’t measured yet).

Fortunately, you can win without 100%-ing the game.

The Witness is currently in development for PS4, PC, and iOS, with the game set to release in 2015.
