There Is No Doubt Activision Is Getting Sued

It seems like Activision can’t avoid drama when they release games. California based band No Doubt is suing Activision for stepping over the boundaries of the bands contract for Band Hero. The bigger surprise for me is that No Doubt is still a band, I thought Gwen Stefani ditched those guys years ago.

No doubt says that they were only supposed to be modeled to play the No Doubt songs, which were only 3 songs. Activision has modeled them in to play on the other 62 songs on the track list for that game. The band says that Activision, “transformed No Doubt band members into a virtual karaoke circus act,.”

This is not the first complaint that Activision has gotten when it comes to their Hero games. Courtney Love and other ex-members of Nirvana had been quite livid over the use Kurt Cobain’s avatar as a full character for Guitar Hero 5. Activision retorted by saying that Love had given them written permission to use Kurt Cobain as a full character.

Sometimes, I wonder about Activision, they get into more mischief that Scooby and the Gang…
