This Daytona USA Trailer Must be the Most Awkward Video Game Trailer Ever

If you watch the beginning of the video embedded past the cut, you may think it’s one of the millions of meme videos that crowd Youtube, with some random dude singing to a video game track in a rather awkward falsetto.

The diversifying factors are that the video is actually a trailer officially published by Sega and the dude isn’t a random dude, but Takenobu Mitsuyoshi.

Mitsuyoshi provided the vocals and composed the original soundtrack of the game. He also composed the score of quite a few  fan favorites like Shenmue (and it’s sequel), Virtua Fighter 2 and 3, Sega Rally Championship and Sega Rally 2.

Luckily at the end of this trailer focused on the Karaoke Mode of the PSN and Xbox Live re-release of Daytona USA he redeems himself by singing “Let’s Go Away” in a proper studio. Check it own below. Rolling Staaaaaaaart!!!
