This week’s downloadable content for the various Rock Band games is pretty great. Sure there are three Blink 182 songs, covering Enema of the State, Take off Your Pants and Jacket and their newest album, Neighborhoods. Unfortunately, these songs have the misfortune of being put up on the same day as one of the best punk tracks ever to hit the mainstream. The Clash already have the entirety of London Calling available for Rock Band, so it is fitting that their biggest hit (at least as it stands in the U.S.) should also join the lineup. Hit the break to see all the awesome coming to Rock Band this week.
Coming this week to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii:
- The Clash – “Rock the Casbah”*
- Blink-182 – “The Party Song”
- Blink-182 – “Stay Together for the Kids”
- Blink-182 – “Up All Night”*
As always, each song will cost $1.99 in real currency, or 160 Microsoft Spacebucks if bought individually. The three Blink 182 songs will also be sold as a pack, the “Blink-182 Pack 03,” for $5.49, or 440 Microsoft points. The tracks marked with an * will be upgradable to Pro-Guitar/Pro-Bass for an additional $0.99 (or 80 Microsoft points).
This is particularly rad news, as while Rock the Casbah might be a bit overplayed, it never gets old. Frankly it is still an awesome song. Good to see some more classic Blink 182 up as well, but if I may be a bit biased right now, Rock the Casbah is just one of those great songs that no matter how many times I hear it, I will never get tired of it. Kudos again to Harmonix for lining up another great week of Rock Band DLC.
