This Year's Call of Duty Title Gets Teased in New Image from Sledgehammer Games

Call of Duty has notably received flak for its annualized releases and criticized for lacking innovation in recent years, but with a first teaser image from this year’s upcoming Call of Duty title being released, those tides could certainly turn.

After first being shown privately at last month’s GDC 2014 in San Francisco, a teaser image from this year’s Call of Duty, under development by Sledgehammer Games, was released showing in-game character models, according to the game’s developers – you can check out the teaser image above.

Sledgehammer Games is taking a “next-gen first” approach to developing the next installment of the long-running Call of Duty franchise, with development specifically targeting current-gen consoles and PCs, along with the upcoming title being the first in a new “three-year development cycle” between Sledgehammer and previous Call of Duty developers, Infinity Ward and Treyarch, in creating annual Call of Duty releases.

Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming Call of Duty title for this year.
