Last week proved to be an incredibly busy (and exciting) one for gamers as Tokyo Game Show 2015 commenced in Japan, and while this year's event has come to an end, there is plenty more to be excited about in anticipation for next year's show.

TGS show organizer Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association announced some new info on this year's TGS 2015 attendance records, which saw an overall high of over 268,446 attendees over the course of the show from September 17 - 20th, 2015.

The highest day of attendance was on Sunday, September 20th (the final public day of the event) with 112,230 visitors, followed by 97,601 on that Saturday. Attendance on Thursday and Friday (the two business days of the event) saw numbers of 29,557 and 29,058, respectively.

That number puts the attendance for this year's show as the second-highest attended TGS event ever in the convention's history, just shy of the all-time record being 270,197 people back at TGS 2013.

In addition to the attendance numbers for this year's show, CESA also revealed that TGS 2016 will take place next year from Thursday, September 15th through Sunday, September 18th, 2016 at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, Japan, the same venue as this year's event.
