Mike Bithell on Thomas Was Alone and Volume Nintendo Switch Ports: “Never Say Never”

When asked on Twitter about possible Nintendo Switch ports of Thomas Was Alone and Volume, Mike Bithell said "Never say never."

Today marks the launch of Mike Bithell’s Subsurface Circular on Nintendo Switch. This new game from the Thomas Was Alone creator is a modern take on the text-adventure genre and part of the  Bithell Shorts saga, which is a series of game’s designed to be enjoyed and beaten in a single play session. It released on PC and iOS last year but was brought to Switch with the help of developer Ant Workshop.

Earlier today, Mike Bithell was asked on Twitter if he would consider bringing his previously released titles, mainly Thomas Was Alone and Volume, to the Switch as well, and he gave the following response:

While this is far from an official confirmation of Switch ports for Thomas Was Alone and Volume, it does seem like Mike Bithell is leaving the door open for it to happen in the future. DualShockers will be sure to let you know if any of Mike Bithell’s previous games are announced for Nintendo Switch.

For those of you who don’t know, Thomas Was Alone is a minimalist 2D platformer that follows a group of AIs, which are made of simple colorful shapes, as they try to escape the mainframe they are stuck on and learn more about themselves along the way. Meanwhile, Volume is a Metal Gear and Robin Hood-inspired stealth game that follows Robert Locksley as he simulates high profile crimes for other to follow via a machine he finds.

Thomas Was Alone is currently available on PC, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Wii U, iOS, and Android while Volume is currently just available on PC, PS4, and PS Vita.
