THQ Announces Naughty Dog Co-Founder As New President
THQ Inc. announced today that it appointed Jason Rubin, co-founder of Naughty Dog, as their new president in an attempt to restructure the developer’s major leadership. Rubin has a long and illustrious past with the video gaming industry; he established Naughty Dog at the age of 15 and went on to co-create and direct the Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter series of games. Mr. Rubin will be working on all of THQ’s worldwide product development, marketing, and publishing operations, and will report to THQ Chairman and CEO Brian Farrell.
Jason’s proven track record in the industry speaks for itself, and he is one of the brightest minds in the business… We believe he can be a game changer and can contribute immensely to executing on our strategy of delivering quality connected core game experiences
Rubin’s appointment is in line with THQ’s attempt to re-brand itself as a maker of “core” multiple platform games including Darksiders II, Saint’s Row: The Third – Enter the Dominatrix, Company of Heroes 2 as well as Metro: Last Light, South Park: The Game and WWE ‘13. THQ has suffered a few setbacks as of late, hopefully Rubin can help right the ship.
