Alongside announcing the status of upcoming projects related to MetroDead Island 2Saints Row, and TimeSplitters today, THQ Nordic revealed that it has now acquired even more studios.

Likely the most notable studio that THQ Nordic announced it has now picked up is that of Gunfire Games. Gunfire was the studio who worked on last year's release of Darksiders III, a title that THQ said it was incredibly happy with sales-wise following the game's launch. Whether or not the developer will continue to work on the Darksiders franchise remains to be seen, but it's a good bet considering the working history between THQ and Gunfire.

In addition to Gunfire, THQ also announced two more acquisitions today. The first is that of Goodbye Kansas Game Invest, which has netted THQ a portfolio that includes investments in five game studios -- Palindrome Interactive, Fall Damage, Neon Giant, Kavalr, and Framebunker. They have also attained the royalty rights to the upcoming release of Biomutant in this transaction, as well.

And lastly, Milestone s.r.l. was the third company that THQ Nordic announced that it had bought up today. Milestone is an Italian developer that has been around for over twenty years at this point. The studio specializes in racing games, with recent and upcoming releases including the likes of Ride 3 and MotoGP 19. Milestone is said to currently have five games in active development.

Considering THQ Nordic announced earlier in the year that it had raised over $200 million to be spent on future acquisitions, none of these moves today should be all that surprising. Still, we'll have to wait and see if the spending from the publisher ends here for the moment or if more acquisitions will be announced soon.
