Over the past few years, publisher THQ Nordic has risen to popularity. The publisher owns several notable IP, and has several neat looking games in the pipeline like Darksiders 3, BioMutant, and This is the Police 2. Unfortunately, even with their intriguing upcoming lineup, THQ Nordic is opting to skip E3 this year.

Jokingly, THQ Nordic claims that they are skipping E3 because it coincides with this year's FIFA World Cup, which begins on June 14, right in the middle of E3. Because the World Cup takes place in Russia this year, THQ Nordic says watching it at a bar "would mean a 7am beer – that’s too early, even for Austrians, let alone the Swedes."

While it is a surprise to see a larger publisher skip out on such a large gaming event, THQ Nordic will be attending other conferences later this year. THQ Nordic has confirmed it will attend both Gamescom, which will take place in Cologne, Germany between August 21 and August 25, and PAX West. At these events, they are promising to show off Darksiders 3, BioMutant, Fade to Silence, Wreckfest, and even some unannounced titles.

While we won't be hearing anything from THQ Nordic at E3, DualShockers will be sure to let you know when more is revealed about some of their highly anticipated titles that are coming later this year.
